Great Britain’s second largest domestic airport – 23. July, 2011

Gatwick is the second largest airport in Great Britain. It is located 45 km to the south from the capital city. London Gatwick Airport consists of two terminals – north and south ones. Free e-train connects both terminals. Passengers take the train every 6 minutes (every 3 minutes in rush hours).

There is a great variety of shops in the airport including “tax-free” trading facilities, restaurants, barber shops, beauty studios and other public establishments for tourists’ convenience. Gatwick airport hotels open their doors for travellers of all categories where businessmen are entertained by Gatwick escorts. People who wait for their flights are invited to occupy a room in one of the 30 different hotels situated nearby.

The fastest way to go to the airport from London is to take a taxi. Another popular transportation is an express train that leaves from Victoria station in London. Usually it takes 15 minutes to go to Gatwick using this transport.

Arm Yourself With a Memorable Experience – 22. July, 2011

Leeds is home to one of the best museums this author has ever visited – the Royal Armouries. Contained within the walls of this world-class attraction is a stunning array of swords, guns, suits of armour, and other articles of weaponry. The museum features weapons not only from the British Isles but also from around the world. Of particular interest is the Hall of Steel, the central tower of the museum building in which over 2,500 pieces of weaponry are beautifully displayed. Other equally engaging exhibits are the Oriental Gallery, with its collection of pieces from Turkey to Japan, and the Tournament Gallery, which in addition to displaying weapons from medieval Europe occasionally hosts ‘tournaments’ of knights in armor. For this American, the Royal Armouries at Leeds is a fascinating glimpse into the cultures and practices of other nations during times of war. A visit with Leeds escorts is highly recommended.

A Family Trip to Edinburgh – 19. July, 2011

When planning our trip to Scotland, we asked our travel agent for recommended hotels in Edinburgh . We wanted to be close to the typical tourist attractions like Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace, as well as plentiful shopping and dining facilities. Our agent convinced us to try the Rocco Forte Balmoral Hotel on Princes Street.

We were traveling with our 18-month-old son and were curious as to whether small children would be welcome in a five-star hotel. Well, we needn’t have worried. Upon arrival, our son was showered with gifts to make him feel welcome. He received a teddy bear, dressed in its own Balmoral robe, a rubber duckie and an activity pack with crayons.

The hotel itself was perfect for our needs. We easily walked to the Castle and Palace and were able to explore a number of small alley-ways along the way. A perfect base for exploring the city.
